Frequently Asked Questions.
Location & Travel
Where are you based?
I’m based in Brighton, UK.
How far are you willing to travel?
I regularly shoot in London, and can easily travel to locations in East Sussex. However, I’m happy to travel all over the UK and even overseas, provided my travel expenses and accommodation (if required) are covered.
Planning a trip away somewhere beautiful? Don’t waste the opportunity to get some incredible photos while you’re there… get in touch with me and I can join you for a destination shoot!
What locations would you recommend?
All locations must be booked, paid for and arranged by you. However, I’m more than happy to be involved in the selection process in order to help find your perfect place!
Some of my clients book hotel rooms for mini shoots, however I recommend booking an entire apartment or house if you plan to shoot with me for more than a couple of hours, as this allows more scope for different setups and rooms to shoot in. Location directories like Peerspace.com or Giggster.com offer some incredible places which can be hired by the hour.
If you’re on a lower budget and the weather permits, I also love shooting outdoors in nature, so somewhere like a forest, beach or garden can often make for incredible photos (I have a huge affinity with Wales for this reason!) Just bear in mind that I advise finding somewhere a little off the beaten track, to limit the chance of any passers-by!
Your Experience
Can I bring someone else to my photo shoot?
Absolutely! I understand that it can sometimes make things more comfortable having a friend join you, so if you want to do this, just let me know in advance. I simply ask that their presence isn’t too distracting for me or you throughout the session.
What if I don’t know how to pose?
Don’t worry - I’m able to help you find the most flattering and suitable poses, and also have a mood board I can send you before the shoot, so you can come up with some ideas and build your confidence ahead of time!
What level of editing do you provide?
High level skin retouching is included for all the images you choose.
If you wish for your face or tattoos to be blurred in any of the photos, this is also something I can do for no additional fee.
If you would like black and white versions of any images, as well as colour, I can do this for an additional £10 per photo.
All photos are provided to you as high resolution and web size JPG files.
How do I know what to wear?
As someone with a background in fashion photography, this is something I’m more than happy to assist with.
The main thing is to always make sure to pick outfits and looks that make you feel confident! If you can’t decide on your final outfits in advance, feel free to bring extra with you on the day, and I can help you choose. It’s always a good idea to pick looks in a range of styles and colours. Bear in mind that you don’t necessarily always need a pair of shoes to match every look - many shots will crop your feet out, or you can be barefoot.
Can I book my own stylist, hair stylist or makeup artist?
Of course! If you have someone trusted you’d like to use, feel free to organise this yourself. Please bear in mind that if you bring them to the shoot location, any time spent on hair, makeup or dressing after I arrive will be included in your shoot time, so it can be worth you booking extra time at the location to prep before I get there.
Should I get a manicure?
I strongly recommend this, as hands are very important and rarely not in shot!
Timeline
How far in advance should I book my shoot?
I typically ask that shoots are booked at least 3 weeks ahead of the date you’d like your session. This allows us time to plan accordingly without feeling rushed.
How does the shoot timing work, on the day?
The ‘start time’ of a shoot begins when I arrive on location, and the ‘end time’ of a shoot is when I leave. Please bear this in mind when considering how much time may be required for your hair and makeup, if you want this done on set, and how long to book your location for.
I’m happy to run over if you feel you need longer to shoot on the day (provided I’ve no other prior commitments afterwards). Extra time is priced at £100 per hour and can either be paid by bank transfer after the shoot, or in cash on the day.
How soon after the photo shoot can I expect to see my photos?
I will usually be able to get your gallery sent over to you within 72 hours of our shoot, unless otherwise discussed. If you find you’d like more photos editing than were included in the package you purchased, these can be provided for an extra £30 per image.
How soon after selecting my photos will I receive the final edits?
Once you have selected your favourite images and paid any outstanding fees, I aim to get your final edits to you within 1 week, unless otherwise discussed.
Other
Do you offer group/duo shoots?
Yes, I do! If two or more of you are interested in booking a shoot, we can arrange this to either be set up as multiple back-to-back solo shoots, or include some overlap if you want to shoot together.
Please get in touch via my contact form to let me know your requirements, and we can get the ball rolling.
I also occasionally plan and advertise ‘Group Shoot Days’ when I book a location of my choice, and short slots are available to book in for multiple people. Make sure to sign up to my newsletter to receive details of any upcoming shoot days before anyone else!
Do you offer videography services?
Yes! I’m happy to capture video content on the day of your shoot too, if this is something you’re looking for. Quotes for this are priced on a case-by-case basis. I’m able to provide RAW footage or short unedited clips for you to edit yourself, or I’m happy to provide a video editing service for an additional fee.
If you’re looking to book me for a shoot that is video-only, please get in touch with some information, and I will be able to send you an accurate quote.
What if I’m unwell on the day of our shoot?
Don’t worry, life happens - if this is the case, we can reschedule to a later date. I just ask that you give me as much notice as possible if you need to cancel. If I need to cancel due to illness or an emergency, the same applies.
Payments
I require a non-refundable deposit upon confirmation of a photo shoot (the costs for which are detailed alongside my package prices).
Any locations must be booked and paid for by you ahead of the shoot. I typically ask that the location is confirmed no less than 1 week before the shoot.
If you book a stylist, hair stylist or makeup artist through me, I will put you in touch with them directly to pay them their fee.
The remaining package fee (minus the deposit already paid) must be paid in full by the day of the shoot. Alternatively, I am happy to receive a cash payment on the day.
Any fees not included in the package (such as any additional time spent shooting, or extra photos) will be invoiced for once you have selected your final images from your gallery.
